Telegram users can now enjoy one-to-one video calling feature on both Android and iOS platforms. The company has introduced this video calling feature on the occasion of its 7th anniversary on 14 August. This video calling feature is available in Alpha version, which protects your video calls with end-to-end encryption, users can test this secure video call with a matching emoji. Along with one-to-one video calling, Telegram has also confirmed that the group video call facility will also be introduced in the coming months.
Telegram revealed in its blog post that the video calling feature has come with picture-in-picture mode support, which means that users can do other tasks along with scrolling telegram chats during video calls. Users can also convert video calls to normal calls whenever they want.
To make a Telegram video call, users have to go to the contact profile of the person they want to make a video call. Now in their profile you will see a call button, by clicking on this button you can easily start a video call. To confirm the end-to-end encryption, the user has to check whether the emoji appearing on their screen matches the emoji shown on their friend’s screen. According to Telegram, if emoji matches are happening, then understand that your call is completely secure.
In addition, Telegram has introduced a large animated version of the emoji used in the chat to commemorate its 7th anniversary.
